The Envirothon is a comprehensive environmental education program for 9th-12th grade students, which tests students' knowledge on soils, aquatics, forestry, wildlife, range public policy and a special topic:   There are no limits on the number of teams from each school taking part in the regional contest.  The regional competition is during FFA districts, however, FFA membership is not a requirement-- science clubs, Scouts, 4-H, FFA and other five-member teams can enter.

Teams will compete for a chance at the state competition, which is being held Saturday, May 1, 2010, at the Nebraska Nature & Visitors Center in Wood River, NE. http://nebraskanature.org.

There are two contests in the Central Region and your school may enter either regional contest.   Winners from each region and 6 wildcard teams will be invited to the State Competition.

The winner of State will compete at the Canon Envirothon to be held Aug. 1-7 at California State University in Fresno.

This year's special topic is: Protection of Groundwater through Urban, Agricultural and Environmental Planning.  Information
