The
Envirothon is a comprehensive environmental education program for 9th-12th grade
students, which tests students' knowledge on soils, aquatics, forestry,
wildlife, range public policy and a special topic: There
are no limits on the number of teams from each school taking part in the
regional contest. The regional
competition is during FFA districts, however, FFA membership is not a
requirement-- science clubs, Scouts, 4-H, FFA and other five-member teams can
enter.
There
are two contests in the Central Region and a school may enter either
regional contest.
Winners
from each region and 6 wildcard teams will be invited to the State Competition.
This
year's special topic was: Protection of Groundwater through Urban, Agricultural
and Environmental Planning. Information
