2008 Area 4 Range Judging Winners

The Central Platte NRD, NRCS and Buffalo County Extension Office hosted the Area 4 range judging contest on September 17, 2008, in Elm Creek.  We had 255 high school students and 9 adults compete from Amherst, Blue Hill, Burwell, Cedar Rapids, Fullerton, Greeley-Wolbach, High Plains, Loup City, Loup County, Ord, Palmer, Red Cloud and Twin River.

The Range Judging contest in Nebraska provides students the opportunity to test on plant identification and classification, rangelands and plant community change, and range sites.  Students participate by teams of four and as individuals.  Listed below are winners from the Area 4 regional contest:
