I am responsible for seeing that all the
programs, projects and priorities of the Central Platte NRD Board of Directors
are carried out in a timely and efficient manner. I am also responsible for all
NRD staff and their activities, act as contracting officer for the District,
and I oversee the long-range and short-term planning and finances of the District.
Ron recently implemented the first NRD Water Bank program. |

Milt’s duties include management when
the General Manager is absent, as well as heading up projects for the District.
Additional duties include managing the Groundwater Management Program,
Legislation, Buffer Strip Program, and the Feedlot Inspection Program. He's also
a member of the State Pesticide
Board and assist with the
certification irrigated acres. |

Dianne has been employed by the Central Platte NRD since 1972 when the NRDs were created. She began her career in 1971 with the Mid-Platte Valley Watershed, which was merged into the Natural Resources Districts. She will celebrate her 40th anniversary in 2011. |

![]() Tom Backer Projects Assistant I am responsible for the physical
maintenance of all of our properties (dams, floodways and recreational
areas), reading of wells for our Groundwater Management Plan and the
tree planting crew. I also help with certification of irrigated
acres. |

|
My duties include taking depth to
groundwater measurements on various observation wells, operating an ultrasonic
flowmeter to measure the capacity of irrigation wells, using a Global
Positioning System to locate irrigation wells, and provide information and
assistance regarding the registration of irrigation wells within the district.
I am responsible for administering the process of certifying irrigated acres
within the District. |

![]() Jon Michael Bosley Geographic Specialist Jon Michael is a specialist in satellite
imagery interpretation & analysis. He assists in certifying irrigated
acres, using low-level infrared photography to distinguish irrigated acres
from non-irrigated areas & then works with individual landowners to
fine tune the acres down to a 1/10th of an acre. He assists with the NRD's
Waterbank, which is used to keep track of water reductions so that
the reductions may be used to offset new uses (in order to maintain the current
balance between use and availability.) |

I work with private landowners, and other organizations to
successfully plan, implement and monitor prescribed fires, which are done for
rangeland and habitat improvement. In
addition my duties include planning and coordinating fire training, and public
education involving the safe use of prescribed fire. |
||
|
Dan’s duties include issuing ground
water well permits, assist in updating water well registrations, technical
assistance in well decommissioning, setting up the water quality sampling
protocol and measuring surface flow in the rivers and streams throughout the NRD. I am also the municipal dewatering and vadose zone coordinator, and
help with
chemigation system inspections, reading irrigation well flows and taking GPS
locations as part of Central Platte NRD’s Groundwater Management Plan.
Dan is responsible for the Variance Programs and he also assists with the
certification of irrigated acres. |

Kelly manages the
Conservation Tree Program, Central Platte’s cost share programs, the state
cost share programs including NSWCP, Buffer Strip Program, Well Decommissioning
and Wild Nebraska, and the Pheasants Forever
Pivot Corner Program. Kelly also works with the Central Platte NRD awards program
and handles all travel arrangements for both the staff and the board of
directors. |

As staff Biologist at Central Platte NRD, I am involved in a variety of tasks
including participating in the Technical and Land Committees associated with the
Platte River Cooperative Agreement, coordinating a multi-agency Wet Meadow
Demonstration Project, and taking part in the Pallid Sturgeon & Sturgeon
Chub Task Force. |

Deb serves as receptionist for incoming
telephone calls and individuals coming into office, type for staff, distribution
of incoming mail, preparation of board member’s travel and expense forms,
organization and updating filing system, updating records of meeting minutes,
bank deposits, petty cash, and other duties as needed. |
||
|
As an employee of the University of Nebraska and a long time partner with the Central Platte NRD, my duties are to conduct field demonstrations with the agricultural clientele throughout the district and focus on Best Management Practices that coincide with the Groundwater Management Plan set by the District. |

Information/Education Specialist
Information responsibilities include
the In Perspective newsletter, NRD & Fire Council websites, creating/updating
brochures, developing agendas for board meetings & keeping the media up-to-date about happenings at the
NRD. I'm also on the NRD's Prescribed Fire Crew. |

![]() Jesse Mintken Conservationist
Jesse transferred from the Upper Niobrara-White
NRD (Chadron) in July 2007. His duties include working with the following
programs: Water Quantity, Water Quality and Chemigation. Jess also
uses the Global Positioning System to locate irrigation wells. |

![]() Sandy Noecker Data and Compliance Officer My duties as Data and Compliance Officer include maintaining and compiling the records and data for the District’s
Groundwater Management Program for Water Quality & Quantity, and the
Chemigation Program; check well registrations and make necessary corrections; make recommendations to
management on the purchase of office equipment and maintenance contracts; assist
and train office staff on computer software and office equipment; and develop
spreadsheet and database programs for staff as needed. |

Angela provides technical assistance in the design,
maintenance, development and creation of databases, maps and other related
GIS (Global Information Systems) projects. She deals in particularly
with the certification of irrigated acres and variance transfers allowed
within the District. Additional duties include: acting as a liaison
with the county assessors, assisting with well registrations, and
troubleshooting GIS issues. |
||
|
As District Hydrologist at Central Platte
NRD, my duties center around surface water & ground water studies. The Platte
River Cooperative Hydrology Study (COHYST) requires much of my time as I work
with others to develop the groundwater database and regional groundwater models
for the Platte River Area above Columbus, NE. The Conjunctive Management Study,
the Platte River Recovery Implementation Program and Water Action Plan
committees are additional
items I am involved with for the NRD. Other hydrology work task
include high groundwater investigations and storm water runoff from
precipitation events. |
