We are saddened to share the passing of Milt Moravek, former Assistant Manager of the Central Platte NRD.
Milt dedicated more than 40 years of his professional life to natural resources and conservation in Nebraska, serving as Assistant Manager of the Central Platte NRD from 1972 to 2013. His career also included work with the Mid-Platte Valley Watershed, Soil & Water Conservation District, Soil Conservation Service, and Nebraska Department of Roads.
A native of Hemingford, Nebraska, Milt was a longtime advocate for conservation and was recognized with the Excellence Award from the Nebraska Weed Control Association and the Irrigation and Nitrogen Management Award.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Milt gave his time to his community, including volunteering at Stuhr Museum and the Nebraska Children’s Groundwater Festival. He enjoyed cars, hunting, reading history, and many other interests. He is survived by his daughter, Kristen Moravek.
Milt leaves behind a lasting legacy of service to Nebraska’s natural resources and the people he worked alongside throughout his career. He will be remembered and missed by many in the conservation community.
