Central Platte NRD Board to Hold Public Hearing to Set Property Tax Request

The Central Platte Natural Resources District (CPNRD) Board of Directors will hold a public hearing to set the property tax request and levy on September 3, 2026, during the regularly scheduled Board of Directors meeting. Note: The August board meeting was moved to allow time for the required public notices. The Board approved the 2026/2027 fiscal year budget of $26,278,764,079, a decrease from last year’s budget of $31,799,740.74 at their July Board meeting. The budget includes proposed expenditures, liabilities, necessary cash reserves, and county treasurer commissions. Based on current balances and projected revenues, the required property tax request is unchanged at $5,347,828.91, a decrease of $5.40 from last year.

The August board meeting will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at the CPNRD office, 215 Kaufman Avenue in Grand Island. The Public Hearing will start immediately prior at 1:45 p.m.
