Milt Moravek Visitation

August 25, 2026

We are saddened to share the passing of Milt Moravek, former Assistant Manager of the Central Platte NRD.

Milt dedicated more than 40 years of his career to flood protection and Nebraska’s natural resources, serving as CPNRD’s assistant manager from 1972 until his retirement in 2013. His career also included work with the Mid-Platte Valley Watershed, Soil and Water Conservation District, Soil Conservation Service and Nebraska Department of Roads.

A native of Hemingford, Nebraska, Milt was a dedicated advocate for conservation. His contributions were recognized with the Nebraska Weed Control Association’s Excellence Award and the Irrigation and Nitrogen Management Award. Milt also shared his time with his community, volunteering at Stuhr Museum and the Nebraska Children’s Groundwater Festival. Outside of work, he enjoyed cars, hunting, reading about history and pursuing many other interests. Milt leaves a lasting legacy for his dedicated service, commitment to flood protection and natural resources, and to the people who had the privilege of working alongside him.
