Birding_Raffle Prize Winners

Central Platte NRD’s 1st annual birding event was a success! Thank you to the nearly 30 birders who attended – we’re looking forward to hosting another event in 2024.

PSM Birding Event

Prairie Silver Moores Flood Cells (PSM) near Grand Island

To celebrate Nebraska Bird Month, avian enthusiasts are invited to participate in CPNRD’s first bird-watching event near Grand Island. Bring a friend and explore nature’s wonders in these wetlands and grasslands, two of Nebraska’s most important and endangered landscapes. Located 6 miles northwest of Grand Island, enter gate off of Schauppsville Road. Take Old Potash Hwy to Schauppsville, turn north for 1.5 miles to the gate. Enjoy the unique Nebraska landscape PSM offers including 500 acres of flood cells, wetlands and 600 acres of grassland and forested areas for excellent bird and wildlife habitat.  Map with Trails
* Wildlife biologists will be on-site to assist in identifying bird species.
* Porta-potties will be on site.
* Bring your binoculars!
